I am active in a community food & clothing pantry where we distribute food to families weekly as they have need. Clothing is free to anyone regardless of income. I am also very active in a motorcycle ministry and a Gospel ministry that first helps people with their needs i.e. food, clothing etc.
Thanks for the information. I would love it if you could post detailed information in the forum. This one sounds like a big idea.
I will look into Second Harvest more. One of our local food ministries is struggling with the cost of food. They are not getting the donations they once did. What is your experience there?
They are purchasing their food from the local food bank to give away but they don't have the financial support.
Tell about location, space, times open etc. I would love to know exactly what it would take to make a food bank happen.
I would also love details about the clothes ministry. We have one and I am going to be putting the details up shortly. I would love to be able to compare and share best practices etc.
Thanks for joining. Perhaps you can share how your involvement in the food and clothing pantry. How many people do you serve? Could someone do that on a smaller scale? What screening practices do you have?
Sounds like you have a lot on your plate. Thanks for being a servant of the King.
I look forward to learning from you as I try to be more and more the hands and feet of Jesus Christ.
Sorry but I don't know Ken. I'm just a Hillbilly from Middle Tennessee and on my journey westward I turned around at Carlsbad NM. Thanks for asking. I'm always anxious to hook up with old friends or make new ones.
